Faces (make two)
Sun Centre
With yellow yarn make a magic ring.
R1: Ch 2, dc 12 in mr, sl st in first dc (12) CC to blue, leaving a long end of yellow for the sun beams.
Sky
R2: Ch 2, 2 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st across, sl st in first dc (24) CC to red
Edging
R3: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, 2 sc in each st across, sl st in first sc (48).
FO, leaving a long end for sewing only on one of the faces.
Embellishing
With the yellow yarn left from R1, embroider the sun beams, going twice through each space in between the sts between R1 and 2 and every other space in between the sts between R 2 and 3. You’ll end up with 12 beams, each consisting of two lines (use photo as guide).
With black, embroider eyes using French knots. With red, embroider mouth.
Joining the sides
Position the two faces with the wrong sides together. Tuck in any loose ends. Using the long red tail left at the end of R3, sew them together, going through each back loop of the side facing you and each front loop of the side facing away from you.
Attaching the keychain
Take the remaining tail of red yarn to the center point on top of the head and sew the keychain to the circle.
